The Magellan Maestro 4000 is the entry level device of the new Maestro series from Magellan. The Maestro series is quite a bit different than the devices in the RoadMate series. The new Maestros feature a widescreen, a slim form factor, and have a completely redesigned user interface. We’ve spent some quality time on the road with the Maestro 400, and here is what we think. |

LG has entered the ultra-competitive GPS market this month with a splash, releasing the Portable Navigator LN730, LN735, and LN740. The LN740 is the most expensive of the three, sporting a larger 4-inch screen, more POIs, more storage, and real-time traffic. Garmin's nuvi 880 can be controlled using speech recognition, includes MSN Direct for real-time traffic, gas prices, weather, and more, can navigate to geo-coded photos, supports multi-destination routing, and a whole lot more. With the possible exception of the 770 which includes European maps, the Garmin Nuvi 760 is the flagship GPS of the Garmin auto line. It has nearly all of the advanced features GPS connoisseurs look for, a widescreen display, Bluetooth hands free calling, live traffic reporting, and an FM transmitter. It also comes with a hefty price tag. If the success of the Nuvi 660 is any indication, the 760 is almost certain to be a winner. |

TomTom's GO 920T costs about the same as the newer GO 930, but lacks the 930's IQ Routes and Advanced Lane Guidance. However, unlike the 930, the 920T includes an RDS-TMC traffic receiver, giving you everything you need to receive live traffic information right out of the box. The GO 920T has Enhanced Positioning Technology (for maintaining tracking when driving through tunnels and such), voice address input, real-time traffic data, Bluetooth, an FM transmitter, a remote control, and TomTom's innovative Map Share & Map Corrections program. |
