Pioneer's new AVIC-F500BT Advanced Multimedia Navigation System got the FCC's seal of approval recently. The navigation device features a map button and scroll wheel on the front, as well as a microphone that lets you use the built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling. A special control button lets you zoom in/out of the map by pressing up and down, while pressing left and right controls the audio track being played. |

HP's new iPAQ, the HP iPAQ 900 Series, just got approved by the FCC. Featuring a ton of goodies including GPS, HSDPA support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and more, this is one venerable all-in-one. Called a Business Messenger, the HP iPAQ 900 series is bundled with a Stylus and comes with a 1940 mAh Li-polymer rechargeable battery. For some reason, it is shipped with a wired stereo handset, but hey, it's got Bluetooth, so I'm sure you'll end up buying spankin' wireless ones. |

Taiwanese Altek just announced a GPS integrated digital camera. The current model will have 8MP resolution and will feature a 3″ touch screen display. The idea is pretty simple; record the exact coordinates and time stamp of each picture in the image data, which than can be interpreted using Geotate’s software. In addition you can also use free web services such as Google Earth, Maps, Flickr to annotate your images and even show your friends and family the route you’ve taken during your trip. |

Reportedly, the driver of a charter bus carrying a high school girls' softball team decided to casually follow the soothing turn-by-turn directions that were being emitted from the nearby GPS unit rather than actually noticing the enormous clearance sign on the overpass ahead. |

The Navigon 2100 max and 2120 max PNDs are up for grabs in the USA and Canada and come at an affordable price, with features available in most high-end GPS devices. Navigon's new DirectHelp feature pinpoints a user's location and provides instant links to nearby services including hospitals, pharmacies and roadside assistance. |

MyGuide seems to be revamping their product line these days. After M.i.motion3318, M.i.motion4328 and M.i.more4338, the two new additions to their entry level GPS navigation systems are the m.imove 3218 and m.imove 4228. m.imove 3218 is the smaller of the two with a 3.5″ screen. m.imove 4228 boasts a 4.3″ screen and a stronger 1450mAh battery as opposed to 1050mAh. |
