Blaupunkt just released the news that its new Blaupunkt TravelPilot 700 we mentioned several months ago is now shipping with VOIP support. Before you ask ‘how’s that gonna work’ keep in mind that this GPS navigation system has a WLAN module and the rest of the western civilization is usually more advanced than the U.S. when it comes to connection speeds. |

This compact unit comes equipped with a 5 inch screen, built in antenna, with the option of having an external antenna as well. Trumpion is a brand from the U.K. that has a few GPS navigation systems and one of those happens to be an in-dash unit called TR-D05 Satellite Navigator. It uses the usual 7″ touch screen with a 480×234 pixels resolution, accepts AUX signal inputs and can be configured to use a parking sensor. |

Mobile Millennium is a partnership between Nokia, NAVTEQ, and UC Berkeley that tries to use GPS enabled cell phones as mobile traffic sensors. It will cover not only highways, but also the side streets, where there is very little; if at all any traffic sensing network. |

Navigon just announced their high end GPS navigation system today called NAVIGON 8100T. What’s special about Navigon 8100T is that it has a new feature called Panaroma View 3D which incorporates actual terrain features and elevation. The other difference from the rest of their GPS navigation system lineup is that 8100T has brushed metal housing instead of the piano black plastic. |
